  PRweb a heavy-weight Podcaster
PRWeb celebrates major milestones in the first 60 days of its new podcasting service. The PRWeb team has recorded 200 episodes with its customers and delivered more than 30,000 episode downloads since the launch of PRWebPodcast.com.

"Customer demand for the service seems to be matched by listener demand. PRWeb has tracked over 30,000 podcast episode downloads during the same time period," noted Andrew Schlichting, PRWeb's Web 2.0 Content Manager.

"When I heard that PRWeb was going to be offering free podcasting for press releases with a $200 upgrade as a value-added service, I knew we had to try it out. What I didn't know was how impressive the results would be. Not only did the PRWeb Pod Crew add great intro and outro music, they also did a great job editing content of the interview, making it sound very professional. I've talked to our PR team and this is a no-brainer to offer to our clients," said Lee Odden of TopRank Online Marketing and Misukanis & Odden Public Relations.

These recordings are easy to access. Just visit the Media Center from our homepage and you can either listen to the file right away or you can download it as an MP3 file, which you can listen to at any time.

Recently, we've added interviews with traders, allowing the folks on our trading floor to share their thoughts about the market in general, individual sectors, and individual stocks. For example, Ryan Detrick has given two interviews.

Advertisers Unsure How To Pitch Products in Podcasts
From:
Investors.com

Though some radio stations are putting brief ads on their podcasts, the field isn't well-suited to promotional messages, says Jordan Rohan, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets. Most podcast listeners aren't willing to sit through ads.

A more promising approach, he says, is something called video snacking. These are short ads that pop up on cell phones and other devices when users are doing something relevant to the ad.
But this tactic faces challenges, Rohan says. For one, the spots have to be very short...
