Podcast SpotlightFrom:
Schaeffers ResearchEach day we present an "Opening View" podcast looking ahead on the day, and a "Market Recap" podcast after the close. We also record one or more "Market Update" features, which bring important news as it happens.
These recordings are easy to access. Just visit the Media Center from our homepage and you can either listen to the file right away or you can download it as an MP3 file, which you can listen to at any time.
Recently, we've added interviews with traders, allowing the folks on our trading floor to share their thoughts about the market in general, individual sectors, and individual stocks. For example, Ryan Detrick has given two interviews.

Advertisers Unsure How To Pitch Products in Podcasts
From:
Investors.comPodcasts — audio and video shows downloaded over the Internet to iPods and other devices — are spreading fast. But it may be some time before the medium attracts many advertisers.
Though some radio stations are putting brief ads on their podcasts, the field isn't well-suited to promotional messages, says Jordan Rohan, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets. Most podcast listeners aren't willing to sit through ads.
A more promising approach, he says, is something called video snacking. These are short ads that pop up on cell phones and other devices when users are doing something relevant to the ad.
But this tactic faces challenges, Rohan says. For one, the spots have to be very short...

Who's Your Podcast Listener?
So, besides you and me, who listens to Podcasts anyway?
I have been following Forrester correspondent Charlene Li for the past few months as she does her research on Blogging and Podcasting. I haven't paid the exorbitant price Forrester's wants for their reports, but a lot of the information gets filtered around through other sources if you look hard enough.
The most interesting thing they found (I thought) was that Britons out listen Americans almost 10 to 1 when it comes to Podcasts. Are the British Isles full of technophiles ready to jump on the next tech bandwagon? Or has Adam Curry's irreverent banter won over his neighbours?
I am sure that the BBC's relatively early adoption of the format had something to do with it, since Forrester's also mentioned that most Podcast listeners prefer the big-box feel of traditional broadcasters-turned-podcasters over the still amateurish attempts of the majority of independent newbie’s.
Of course, with almost non-existing metrics to accurately measure the true usage of Podcasts, everything anybody says must still be taken with a grain of salt.
