  Honor Roll Queen Elizabeth has named iPod and iMac designer, Jonathan Ive, to the Queen’s New Year’s Honors List and was named a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) on Saturday.

The title recognises Ive’s achievements in industrial design as leader of the team that produced not only the iPod but also the iMac, iBook and Powerbook computer lines in his nearly 13-year career at Cupertino, California-based Apple.

“We are proud as can be that Jony is receiving such a prestigious commendation,” said Apple in a statement quoted by the BBC.

How awesome is that? It's certainly a well-deserved award based on the popularity of the iPod, but the iMac? Just call it what it is, it is for the design of the iPod. Geez.   ¶ 14:50
