  Here we go!
Welcome!

It's been a little while since our last post, but things are really ramping up here at PodCast Empire.

Our Directory is almost ready to go.

We would like to thank our friends at www.shave5strokes.com for some design suggestions! If you are a golfer you check the site out!

For now, here is some cool Podcasting news for you...

The Future of PodCasting?

The NPR (National Public Radio) is putting it's faith in the future of Podcasting and is jumping into the medium in a huge way with 130 new podcasts!

From NPR:

"This service is our first step in podcasting and we are experimenting with a number of program formats. Among other considerations, many NPR member stations incorporate local stories as they air national programs; we are currently unable to integrate local and national content into a combined podcast, and thus cannot reflect the radio experience listeners enjoy — and expect — in their individual markets. Additionally, podcasting full-length programs such as Morning Edition and All Things Considered could be extremely expensive. Over the next several months, NPR and its public radio partners will be experimenting with a number of formats and offerings"

UPDATE:

Just some more info I have come across regarding this topic:

From Media Week:

"The seven non-commercial stations involved with the Web site launch are: KQED San Francisco, Calif., KUT Austin, Tex., KWSU Pullman, Wash. (listed as Northwest Public Radio), WGBH Boston, WNYC New York, WUOM Ann Arbor, Mich. (listed as Great Lakes Radio Consortium), and WXPN Philadelphia.

Individuals who browse the NPR Web site will find a list of 37 provider stations and 130 separate podcast files, which means the current roster of participating stations has grown beyond the original seven."

Or Check out Tony Sanders take on the situation!!
