What do you think about 'dirty' Podcasts?
So it seems that there is a bit of a debate going on over x-rated content in Podcasts nowadays.
Podcasts can consist of music, talk, comedy, news, drama and yes... even XXX-material. A lot of our favorite talk shows contain material that I wouldn't let my kids listen to; and recently I read an article on the expansion of Pod-Porn.
To each their own.
The medium that we have come to know and love is wide open to any kind of content that any kind of person (with a bit of technical knowledge) can broadcast freely to the world. And of course, this is one of the endearing qualities about Podcasting; it is the ultimate platform for free speech!
But what is the downside to all of this? There are no filters, no good rating system, no governing body, no way to prevent young kids from downloading large amounts of content that would make their mothers faint!
Sex related themes and graphic content is nothing new and nobody should be suprised that it has infiltrated Podcasting aswell. And I am not trying to say that it is a bad thing. But it is a little scary that really graphic content is readily available to any 10 year old with an iPod in a world where 'costume malfunctions' that are only visible for a fraction of a second cause a nation to scream.
Am I suggesting that anybody tone down their Casts? Of course not. But maybe there should be some discussion on a method to prevent minors from easy access to content they really shouldn't be listening to.
I am interested in your feelings on this...

Finding Your Podcasts With Style
How do you find and listen to your podcasts?
There are a few products out there of course, but none of them are as creative as Golden Ear by Howard Harawitz -

"
Golden Ear works like an ordinary radio. You can use the dials to select podcasts and adjust listening volume. You will receive your podcasts as streaming audio files -- so there is no need to wait for downloads.
Golden Ear enables you to browse for podcast sites, view a list of the podcasts that are available at each site and sample them with a click. "
